Author information

Publication of all scientific papers is free of charge.

Submission to the journal proceeds totally online. The author should register in the e-edition system and download all his files through it.

Submission of an article implies that the work described has not been published previously, that it is not under consideration for publication elsewhere, that its publication is approved by all authors and by the responsible authorities where the work was carried out, and that, if accepted, it will not be published elsewhere in the same form, in any language, including electronically without the written consent of the copyright-holder. The author accepts our publication ethics and publication rules.

All articles without exception are open-access on the journal website and in Russian Scientific Library. Article abstracts are transferred to several databases and online libraries.

All articles submitted to the journal are checked for loans in the online-service Antiplagiat

Subject and format of articles

The journal provides a forum for publishing articles on the following aspects of the science of civil engineering:

  • structural engineering and structural mechanics
  • construction and building materials
  • hydraulics
  • heating, ventilation and air conditioning
  • processes and technologies
  • soils and foundations

The article should have not only the scientific novelty but also the practical value. Civil engineering is an applied science, so the article should be interesting for construction industry.

The journal does not publish the reviews, popular science articles, journalistic essays, engineering report and methodological materials. Such materials could be send to other journals.

Articles should be created in MS Word 2007-2013. File format is docx. The article file should contain only text itself, without title, author information, references. All these fields are completed in e-edition system and then automatically added to the layout.

Articles should be between 15000 and 30000 characters in length. The detailed manuscript requirements are given here.

Article structure

Please use the IMRAD model for structuring your work. The following parts of the article are mandatory:

  • Introduction. This part should include the objectives of the work and its background. It should be based on the literature review. In the literature review you should show the competence in your area and its main authors and works. In the same time, you should not cite all possible references but only those that are strictly connected with your topic. The recommended quantity of references is 20-40. See the complete requirements for the completeness and representativeness of the literature review.
  • Methods.
  • Results and Discussion.
  • Conclusions. Here the list of main conclusions is given. It should not repeat the results, but the generalization is intended.
  • Acknowledgements. The personal acknowledgements and also the information about funding is given here.

Peer-reviewing is provided by the journal. All research articles are peer-reviewed by outside referees. Peer-review model is double-blind, that means the author and the referee do not know each other.

All reviewing process is provided via e-edition system. An anonymic discussion with a reviewer is possible in comments to the article.

In case of irrelevant subject or manuscript type it can be rejected by the editor without using the external review.

The editorial board examines an article in case of its compliance to the requirements and in the presence of the following materials:

The article should have advanced abstract in English and in Russian.

The abstract should be the presentation of the article without itself. Abstract should have the same structure as the article and include problem urgency; purpose; methods; results; conclusions.

Abstract should be of 100–250 words.

Author information

The information about all co-authors should be presented:

  • Full name
  • Affiliation
  • Position
  • Academic degree (if applicable)
  • E-mail address
  • Telephone

It is important to remember that the list of references is one of the most important parts of the article. You should show the competence in your area and its main authors and works. In the same time, you should not cite all possible references but only those that are strictly connected with your topic. The recommended quantity of references is 20-40.

The cited papers should be relatively recent, actual and easy of access. It is advisable that the papers are accessible through Internet.

References to other publications must be in following style. Mandatory items are:

  • an article: title, journal, year of publication, issue, pages of the article;
  • a book: title, place of publication, publisher, year of publication, volume.

You should cite publications in the text with number in the list enclosed in square brackets. A list of references in the order of mention should be supplied.
