        <p>The article considers the local vibrations of elements of building structures. It is shown that under certain conditions, external influences cause vibrations of only some structural elements, but the whole structure stay in quiescence condition. The classification of local vibrations by the frequency characteristic is proposed. The limitation of spectrum of mechanical vibrations for buildings with structural damping due to the presence of dry friction forces is shown.</p>
